Anthony served as a Second Lieutenant, 347th Infantry, 87th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Kings County, New York State prior to the war.

Anthony was "Killed In Action" by enemy fire while crossing the Rhein River into Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in France and was later repatriated here on October 21, 1948.

Anthony death is mentioned in Dr. Murray Cooper's book on WW2 called "Civilian Boy Soldiers: Many Never to Grow Old".
