It is believed that Thomas was a veteran of the Indian Wars serving in 3rd Co. of GA. Batt. commanded by Capt. johnDuncan. On payroll June 9, 1782 - November 4, 1795 - enlisted December 16, 1779 and served 10 months, 18 days. It is also believed he moved to Rockingham County, North Carolina by Augus 16, 1779 and then in Georgia by 1782.
Thomas Almand, Sr. died before 1806.....no exact date know.
In 1806, as a widow of a soldier, Annice drew land in Elbeert County, Georgia.
