TORREY, UTAH-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, David F. Cannon, age 79, of Ormeau, Queensland, Australia, died February 1, 2008 at Princess Alexander Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.

He was born July 3, 1929 in Torrey, Utah, a son of Angus Munn and Nellie T. Behunin Cannon. He married Anita Jensen in Salt Lake City in 1951 and they were later divorced. He married Daphne Holladay, May 10, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dave was reared and educated in Torrey. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family at his mountain cabin and always had a good story to tell. Dave served in the United States Army 9225th TSU-TC at Ft. Lewis, Washington and he worked 25 years for Milne Truck Lines. He moved to Australia in 1986 where he has since resided.

Dave is survived by his wife, Daphne of Australia; daughters: Patricia and Grant Wells of Salt Lake City; Nancy Caldwell of West Valley City; and Gigi Carman of Duchesne; step-children: Lynda and David Laughlin of Rapid City, South Dakota; Frank and Ida Holladay of Ormeau, Queensland, Australia; George and Sandra Holladay of North Ogden, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Von and Marilyn Cannon of St. George, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Essie Cannon and three brothers: Bert, Willis and Dale Cannon.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Torrey Cemetery with Military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
