Rev. Lewis graduated from Camden Academy, Daniel Payne College and Theological Seminary in Birmingham, AL. He retired in October 2005 as Pastor of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, and had been active in the Civil Rights Movement. He was a Mason and member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
Surviving are his wife of nealy 50 years, Alice (Grady) Lewis, Mobile, AL; children, Prinic H. Lewis, Jr., Kenneth & wife, Kimberly Lewis, Bernard & wife, Alberta Howard, all of Mobile; brothers, John Lewis, Detroit, MI and Floyd & wife Sherry Lewis, Morristown, NJ; sisters, Juanita Lewis & Mary Clancey, both of Patterson, NJ, Elizabeth Jackson & Claudine Davis, both of Norwalk, CT, Daisy Lewis, Corona, NY, and Dorothy Lewis, New York City; grandchildren, Brittany Howard, Kameron Lewis, Alex Lewis, & Derice Lewis, all of Mobile, and many other relatives.
Interment followed funeral services conducted Saturday, July 14, 2007.
