Betty Ann Sims passed away peacefully the morning of October 15, 2023 at her home at the age of 84. Betty worked as a Sales Associate at Gayfers for 20 years and was a member of Evangel Assembly of God; she had the heart of an angel and the spirit of a warrior. While Betty was a homebody she enjoyed interacting with people and never met a stranger. She loved music and enjoyed gardening.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Boyd Sims; a son David Michael Butler; parents Arthur and Lorene Alday; brother and sister-in-law Walter and Kaye Alday; sisters and brothers-in-law Juanita and Horace Dupree; Helen and Bill Booker; Patsy and Gary Holsomback; Barbara Bidwell and brother-in-law Truitt Eller.

She is survived by one sister, Marilyn Eller of North Carolina; a son Kenneth R. Butler (Pam); a daughter Teresa Butler; grandchildren Kyle and Derek Butler and Ashley Smallwood; great grandchildren Ethan Butler and Preston Ray Singletary as well as several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Big Bend Hospice for all their services and especially to Rebeca Montero, Sunshine Johnson, Kaitlyn Beard and to Chaplains Neil Averett and Andrew Archer – our family could not have made it through without all of you.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Garden of the Last Supper.
