Loa Metcalf Obituary
Loa Mae Metcalf, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 17, 2023, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Home Health & Hospice and her loving family.
Loa was born May 6, 1943, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Thomas Harold Westover and Tessa Arvilla Hansen Westover. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed reading and painting.
On December 8, 1961, she married Bart Earl Metcalf in the Idaho Falls Temple. Loa and Bart made their home in Blackfoot where Loa was a homemaker.
Loa is survived by her son, David Metcalf of Pocatello, ID; son, Jeff (Michelle) Metcalf of Grant, ID; son, Mike (MaryAnn) Metcalf of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Glenna (Rick) Broadfoot of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Thomas P. (Alicen) Metcalf of Saratoga Springs, UT; sister, Regina (Chris) Martin of Tyhee, ID; brother, Gary (Mary Lou) Westover of Oakley, ID; and 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bart Metcalf; son, Joseph Allen Metcalf; son, Vernon Jesse Metcalf; brother, Rodney Westover; brother, Delmar Westover; and daughter-in-law, Maggie Metcalf.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at 2545 Mesa Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
