Obituary
Beverlee B. Preuss, 85, of Independence, IA, died on August 16, 2023, at her home in Independence, IA, surrounded by her family.

Beverlee was born on May 1, 1938, in Robinson, IA, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary M. (Flanagan) Falconer. She grew up in rural Coggon, IA, and was a member of the 1956 graduating class, of Coggon High School. For several years she drove daily to work in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA, at May's Drug Store.

On March 29, 1959, Beverlee married Robert Preuss in Coggon, IA, and made their home in Mount Vernon, IA. They had six children together and Beverlee enjoyed raising and caring for her children. They farmed for several years in Mount Vernon and Winthrop, IA before moving to Independence, IA in 1973. As her children got older, she spent many years driving a semi-truck with Robert. They traveled all over the United States together and were an efficient team. Her favorite trips were out to Montana to haul cattle.

Eventually, she was blessed with grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them even more. She loved to share Saturday afternoon lunch with them and would have a meal ready and waiting for them to arrive.

Beverlee liked to stay busy and had many hobbies. Her favorite was crocheting. She had taken the time to crochet blankets for all of her grandchildren. She also liked taking trips to casinos, and she hardly ever left empty-handed. Beverlee was also an avid bowler. She bowled for many years on Thursday morning on the women's league in Independence.
