Arley Dee Barker, Jr., 90 of Poplar Bluff MO., passed away peacefully on Saturday October 14, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He had been in declining health the past year.

He was born March 27, 1933 to Arley D. Barker Sr. and Artie May (Brayton) Barker. he was the fourth of ten children.

He graduated from PBHS in1951 and proudly served his country from 1953-1955.

In December 1955, he married Lois Kelly in Joliet IL., she preceded him in death on September 17, 2023.

He received his Bachelors Degree from Columbia University, the first in his family.

He taught Vo. Ag in Exira and Monroe IA.,before moving to Lohrville IA., where he managed the Cyanamid Fertilizer plant, then worked at the Lohrville bank and finally became a farmer. He loved the land and farmed until October 2022.

He and Lois loved to travel and visited all 50 states. He was also very active in the Nakota Lodge #597.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois of 67 years, 1 brother, William and 4 sisters, Evelyn, Mary Ellen, Dorothy and Norma Jean.

He is survived by 3 brothers; Eugene, Kenneth and Art; 1 sister, Sue Gilbert as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on October 19, 2023, beginning at 1:00 PM, funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM both at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home. Internment will follow in Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, with his nephew, Greg Tibbs officiating.
