Jean Gerard Nicolas, peacefully passed away from natural causes on Monday, October 2nd at the Grove Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in East Orange, NJ. He was supported by his loving wife, daughter, caregivers, and loved ones during his last days. Gerard was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on March 6th to Andree Nicolas and Alex Denize. He was supported and cared for by his family and nursing home staff and administrators. Gerard lived a rich and meaningful life, touching many with his love for music (guitar and piano), singing, tutoring English, and his spirit of helping others.

Gerard survived by his wife Anne-Marie Nicolas, daughter, Patricia Joseph, grandson, Johnathan Joseph, son in law, Archie Joseph, sister, Anne-Marie Hauben, sister-in-law, Carmen Jacqueline Nicolas; niece, Betty Nicolas, nephews Andre Jr & Sidney Nicolas, Franzi & Diederik Hauben. Further survived by his cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death and joins his mother Andree Nicolas, brother Andre Nicolas, aunts Marie Rose Lorss, Simone Lorss, Emily Biamby & Odette Beauliere.

Gerard will be remembered for his free-spirit, sense of humor, and resilience to push through no matter the circumstance.
