John Philip Van Allen was my g-grandfather's brother. He was born in Jerusalme (Feura Bush), Albany County, NY and christened in the Jerusalem Reformed Church, Feura Bush, NY, the son of Philip Van Allen and Adeline Waine. He was the brother of James Wayne, Martha Matilda, and Anna Marie.
His first wife, Jennie O. Donehue, died of pneumonia in 1910.
He then married Nanna Elizabeth Link on March 4, 1912 in Chalk Level, St. Clair County, MO. The wedding was held at the home of the bride's parents.
Together John and Nanna had four daughters; Anna May, Adaline, Martha and Ester.
