Newburgh - Natalie Roakes age 92, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 09, 2023, at her daughter's home in Newburgh Maine. She was born December 31, 1930, in Porter, Maine, a daughter of Leroy and Pauline Day. She graduated from Kezar Falls high school and attended the New England School of Theology. [Natalie Idolyn Day, who has a sweet spirit and high aims, was born on December 31, 1930, in Porter, Maine. Her home church is in Kezar Falls, where Rev. Samuel Landers recently became pastor. While Nat was at the General Eastern L[oyal] W[orkers] Convention in 1945, she accepted Christ as her Savior under Rev. Ariel Ainsworth's preaching. Reading is her hobby; and the foreign mission field is her aim, if that is where God wants to use her. The Theologian, NEST, 1950, p. 23, two years?] She worked as a waitress & nanny in Mass and was a substitute teacher for SAD 17. She was employed at Wilner Wood Products in South Paris Maine as a heel cutter. On September 30, 1977, she was married to Robert R. Roakes, in the church parsonage of the Oxford Advent Christian Church. She was a member of the Oxford Advent Christian Church and faithful supporter & teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship.

A loving woman who was the happiest when she was able to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading God's Word, crossword puzzles, gardening, crocheting, and hosting family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Leroy and Pauline Day, her loving husband Robert Roakes, and her sons Matthew Holbrook and Andrew Holbrook.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, David Holbrook, Stephen Holbrook, Daniel Holbrook, Deborah (Holbrook) Roy, Rebecca (Holbrook) McCain, Jonathan Holbrook, and Lois (Holbrook) Warren. She also leaves her 44 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will take place on November 11, 2023, from 10:00 -11:30 A.M at the Albert and Burpee Funeral Home 235 Pine St Lewiston Maine, Burial will take place at the MT Auburn Cemetery casual attire accepted.
