Ishpeming – Dorothy E. Lambert, age 77, of 1019 N. Third St., Ishpeming passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2019, while in the loving care of her family at her home in Ishpeming.

Dorothy was born in Ishpeming on December 2, 1942, daughter of the late Ina (Parrie) and Henry Heikkila. She married Norman Anderson who had been stationed at KI Sawyer Air Force Base, and they then located to his home state of Indiana where they had three children. Her husband "Andy" died at a young age, so Dorothy relocated back to this area and continued to raise her children.

Dorothy had worked at the H. W. Gossard, Co. as a seamstress for a few years, then for many years as a cook/waitress for local restaurants and as a nurse's aide at Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility.

Dorothy had spent nearly 40 years with her second husband, Jerry Lambert, Sr. whom she married in July of 1997. They especially enjoyed "Going to Camp" and spending time in the motor home.

Dorothy had a strong faith in God throughout her life. She loved her cats (Sadie and Minnie), gardening, and lived life to the fullest. Dorothy was always inquisitive and was sometimes known to be a little bossy.

Her greatest joy in life was her family and for them to be happy. Her cooking and baking will be fondly remembered, most notably her 4th of July brunches. She had a beautiful smile and loved having her picture taken and always had her camera ready to take someone's picture. She was a past member of the AmVets and a current member of the Greenwood American Legion Post #114.

Survivors include her husband Jerry Lambert, Sr. of Ishpeming; two daughters, Sandi Worth of Gwinn and Susan (David) Lakanen of Negaunee; a son Thomas (Gisela) Anderson of White Mills, KY; step-son Jerry Lambert, Jr. of St. Ignace; step-daughter Shirley Secord of Lowell; 8 grandchildren - Eugene Worth, Jill Worth, Andy Lakanen, Aaron Lakanen, Kathryn Lakanen, Yvonne Taylor, Christy Anderson, Ashley Anderson; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Hamari of Ishpeming, Eleanore Niemi of Ishpeming and Elaine (David) Carello of Ishpeming, a brother Ronald Heikkila of Negaunee, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Pauline Hastings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert Heikkila, and her first husband Norman Anderson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the Greenwood American Legion Post #114 with Rev. D. Michael Carriere officiating. A luncheon will follow the services in the Legion Hall.
