Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Raymond Giese, Jr., age 63, of Sioux Falls, were held at 2 PM on August 14, 2000 in the first Evangelical Lutheran Church at Gary, Sd. Rev. Bruce Mueller officiated. Mr. Giese passed away on August 2, 2000 at his home in Sioux Falls, SD. Raymond was born on July 7, 1937 at Moritz, SD to Walter and Eleanore (Musch) Giese. Hr was baptized and confirmed at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended Moritz School district No. 33. Upon completion, Raymond started his career on the farm. He farmed with his parents until the farm was sold in 1990, at which time he moved to Sioux Falls where he lived and worked.
Raymond enjoyed life on the farm, especially the time he spent in the field driving a tractor. Raymond has a deep affection for old time music and collected polka and waltz records.
Raymond is survived by his parents, Walter and Eleanora Giese of Gary, SD.; five brothers, Larry and Dawn Giese of Chisago City, MN; Alan Giese of North Platte, NE, James Giese of bath, SD, Gary and Linda Giese of Clear Lake, Sd and Stephen Giese of York, PA.; and three sisters, Mavis Morris of Placentia, CA., Joyce and Tom Sonnenfeld of Sioux Falls, SD, and Ramona and Kurt Kaiser of Clear Lake, SD. Raymond was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis.
