Hazel Spear Haley was the daughter of Joseph Allison and Carrie Spear Haley. She graduated from Wilmington High School and then worked for DuPont in their offices for 38 years. She lived with her mother, and they turned their downstairs area into a separate apartment for extra income. Hazel loved to travel, and took many trips around the United States and abroad.
After her mother died, she sold their home and moved into an apartment complex in Wilmington and then finally to Presbyterian Retirement Center in Quarryville, Pennsylvania, where she died. She was much beloved by her Haley cousins and their children.
