From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Fritz Guenther of Fredericksburg, Texas died at the age of 86. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. His late parents were Lloyd and Marion Guenther who were also born in Detroit. After graduating from Central Michigan University, he worked with his father until 1959 when he entered the U.S. Army. In 1964 Fritz elected to follow his dream of becoming a pilot and was trained not only to fly but to maintain his plane. After graduation Fritz went to Viet Nam twice flying the much loved L-19 Bird Dog on reconnaissance missions. Finally, he and his family got orders to move to Germany. Their next move was to Alaska where Fritz retired from the military. The state of Alaska needed someone who knew how to fly a small airplane and about snow. Fritz was an expert in both. After both spouses had died in 2011, on October 4, 2013, Kathie Marlow and Fritz Guenther were married in St. Mary's Church by Monsignor Enda Mckenna. The next morning, they were up early to start the day dancing the Chicken Dance and then on to pouring wine at the Oktoberfest. They shared ten fun years together. His family includes: Son: Fredric A. and Cindy of WA, Grandson: Eric, OR, Granddaughter: Jaclyn, OR, Son: Charles L. and wife Peggy of New Port Richie, FL, Son: Don J. Hudson of FL
