Ruby died at the Gainesville Health Care Center Oct. 7. She was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Ocie, to Ira and Ethel (Tannehill) Duggins.
On Aug. 29, 1947, Ruby married Frank Anderson and they had one son, Roger Anderson. As their lives began after marriage Ruby and Frank left Gainesville and moved to Wichita, Kansas where Frank worked at Boeing Aircraft for a short time but decided to move back home to Gainesville where Frank started his own carpentry business. Ruby went to work at MarBax Shirt Factory and then to Baxter (Travenol) Lab in Mountain Home, Arkansas for a short period of time. Ruby then decided to be a homemaker as she loved her family dearly.
Ruby enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals, yard sales, cooking, people watching, laughing and having a good time, but most of all she loved the Lord and going to church.
Ruby is survived by one son Roger and wife Beverly of Gainesville; two grandchildren: Shelly Peterson and husband Steve Peterson of Colorado Springs, Bobby Anderson and wife Holly Anderson of Gainesville, five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, sister Delphia Holmes and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Anderson; one sister Hazel Brewer; one brother Fray Duggins and one great-granddaughter, Remington Anderson. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
