Raymond Juhl, a free-lance entrepreneur with an artistic flare, and long-time resident of Miller, NE, died on 5 October 2023 at the age of 68 at the family farm south of Amherst.

Ray is survived by his sister Darla (Amherst, NE) brother Harold (Cape Carteret, NC) and two nephews, Aaron Juhl (Overland Park, KS) and Shane Juhl (Dayton, OH).

He is predeceased by his parents and a brother Clair.

Ray was born in Kearney on 14 March 1955 to Harold and Vivian Juhl of Riverdale, NE. He attended the one room school District 55 until it closed and was consolidated with the Amherst schools. Ray was a Home Coming King and graduate of Amherst High School Class of 1973.

Ray was occupied in various endeavors throughout his life, all of which kept him near the family farm south of Amherst as he was a major source of help and comfort to his mother living alone.

In his youth he was a bit of a daredevil, jumping autos on his motorcycle. He had a lifelong interest in classic autos.

In his later years he became a locally well- known woodworking artist, making furniture and decorative pieces. At least one of his birdhouses ended up in a yard in Lillehammer Norway.

Ray was always seen to be a fun loving, smart and curious guy. He liked to be around people and was always good for a witty remark in any conversation. His sense of humor and love of fun will be missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
