Spc. Seth Miller of Visalia graduated in 2000 from Mount Whitney High School, where he wrestled and played middle linebacker for the football team. After a short stint at San Diego State University, Miller moved with his family to Illinois and eventually decided to pursue an Army career. Seth was stationed in Germany after graduating at the top of his class in Advanced Training School at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. He wanted to become a paratrooper or an Army Ranger and had planned to be deployed to the Middle East later this year. Seth was born with a will to fight that you don't see very often. He had a confidence about him that was uplifting. He loved to perform free-style hip-hop poetry and missed living in Visalia because of its proximity to the mountains. He died while training with the Army in a tragic accident at age 27.
