Edwin Morris Wilson passed away on October 5 ,2023 in a Frisco hospital.
Ed was born September 24,1938 in Refugio, Texas to Morris and Estelle (Winsor) Wilson.
Ed graduated from Refugio High School in 1958 and attended Southwest Texas Teacher's College (now Texas State University) on a pole-vaulting scholarship. He was named an All-American Pole Vaulter in 1962. He began his career as an educator. While a college student, he met Sue Beth Wallace of Texas City. They married on August 27, 1960.
He eventually became a State Farm Agent in Portland, Austin, and Rockport, Texas, where he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing 42 and poker.
Predeceased by his parents; his son, Wayne Morris Wilson; his sister, Loretta Wilson; and his brother, John Wilson.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sue Beth of Frisco; his son, Brent and wife Lori of Celina; grandsons Payne Wilson and wife Siobhan of McKinney, and Parker Wilson of Rockwall; his sisters, Nancy Van Ness of Refugio and Maureen Mohr or Refugio; his brother, David Wilson and wife Laura of Rockport; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed requested that there be no memorial service.
