According to an article in the March 25, 2003 (page 18) edition of the Raleigh News and Observer, the Stedman Family Cemetery has a total of 18 confirmed graves. Only three headstones remain, Mary D. Alford Stedman, William A. Stedman, and Adail Stedman. Although there's no proof that Joesph was buried here, it's hard to believe that he wouldn't have been buried alongside his wife in the family cemetery.
