Mrs. Clara Stenger Sloat, formerly of Moline, Succumbs in Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Clara Stenger Sloat, 67 years old, known in vaudeville as Clara B Stanley, former Moline resident, died Thursday morning in her home in Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Sloat, whose maiden name was Miss Clara Stenger, was born in Muscatine, Iowa, on Jan 26, 1868, and resided in Moline until she was 20 years of age. She was a character actress in vaudeville for many years. She married Ray Sloat and made her home in Portland.
Surviving are the widower; three sisters, Mrs. Fred C Vierich and Mrs. J Grant Peterson, both of Moline, and Mrs. Harry Van Wyck or Maywood, Ill., and two nephews, T. H. Vierich of Moline and Theodore R Stenger of Rock Island.
