Doris J. (Bachtell) Stevens 86, of Smithsburg, MD passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Born, August 24, 1937, in Edgemont, MD she was the daughter of the late Irene and Samuel Bachtell.
She was a graduate of Smithsburg High School, Class of 1955.
Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg, MD.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Terry D. Stevens, children Craig Stevens, Brian Stevens, Lori Stevens,
Carrie Dayhoff, and Lance Stevens (Brandi), grandchildren Nicholas Stevens, Megan Dayhoff, Christian Stevens, Paige Dayhoff, Faith Gunnoe and Taylor Stevens and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Delores Bumbaugh, brother Glenn Bachtell, granddaughter, Tiffany Dayhoff and son in law, Michael Dayhoff.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Smithsburg Cemetery with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers of Hospice of Washington County for their excellent care.
