Obit- Deadrick Eugene "Gene" Drew, 86, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004. A veteran of World War II, he had been a 20-year employee of Wilson Co. and had been an insurance agent for Liberty National Life Insurance Co. for 20 years. Mr. Drew was a member of Mountain Creek Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Allie Hamblen Drew; brothers, Jimmy and Marcus "Toby" Drew; and sisters, Daisy Stewart Eaves, Sara Woody, Mae Price, Kathleen Mackey and Bobbie Drew. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ora Mae Douglas Drew. They were married on December 21, 1940. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel with Minister Eddie Reachard and Herman Arendale officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
