Funeral services for Eva Mae Ovard Campbell, 83, were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Salmon on Thursday, 7 September 1989 at 2 p.m. with Bishop Scott Taylor conducting.

Mrs. Campbell died 2 September 1989 at the Salmon Valley Care Center after a lingering illness.

She was born on 24 July 1906 in Logan, Utah,a daughter of Jesse Heiner and Eva Emma Larsen Ovard. She was the second child and first daughter born to this union. There were 13 children, with nine of them still living.

Mae, as she was known to family and friends, grew up in Teton Basin living in Tetonia and Victor and later in Rexburg in her early adult life.

She being the oldest girl, had to perform many duties as the family grew. She cooked and cleaned for a family at age 11, and baby sat for her mother and many neighbors. She loved children and they still were a source of pleasure to her, even in her declining years.

She drove the buggy to take her mother visiting reaching at the age of 12 and was a visiting teacher herself all her life, until disabilities caused her to be unable to continue at the age of 82.

She loved the visiting teaching program and was also a Sunday School teacher and primary teacher. She also held many positions in the church until her health prohibited her further involvement.

After her husband died she was a worker in the Provo Temple for four years. She went with a sister from Duchesen, Utah and drove to Provo each week and worked and attended the temple sessions, then drove the 160 miles back the next day. It was a special time in her life.

Mae loved to be of service to one and all. When she was able to grow a garden, it was a source of pleasure to her if she could share its bounty with others. She loved the church and the association with all who were in attendance.

She was a bookkeeper for many years, both for her husband's business and the Lost River Coop at Mackay, where they lived for many years.

She met and married Arch D. Campbell at Rexburg on 3 May 1924. To this union two sons were born; Lewis W. and Donald A. Campbell. She was a kind and.........
