Lake City's Oldest Man Dies At 98.
Lake City's oldest man,Silas Bullock,98,of 494 Biddle Lane,died Thursday at Lake City Nursing Home of complications of age. A native of Campbell County,he was the son of Mr.and Mrs.Bert Bullock and was born Oct.15,1878. He moved to Lake City after going to work in the Beech Grove mines. He was a miner until he retired in 1942. He enjoyed farming and fishing in earlier years.
Survivors include his wife Mrs.Maudie Bell Bullock,three sons,Harvey Bullock of Caryville,Truman Bullock of Clinton,and Robert Bullock of Gary,Ind. three daughters,Mrs.Charles(Monnie)Russell of Oliver Springs, Mrs.W.J.(Rosie)Strong of Clinton.Mrs.Clayton(Nettie)Towe of Lake City.13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at West Side Baptist Church with the Rev.Howard Robbins and the Rev.L.B. Huskey officiating.Burial was in Murrayville Cemetery.
