His funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, October 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Sunday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Pinopolis Community Church, 1833 Pinopolis Rd., Pinopolis, SC 29469.
Mr. Hill was born April 11, 1934, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Howard W. Hill, Sr., and Lula Varner Hill. He was a member of the Pinopolis Community Church and proudly served his Country in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hill enjoyed Bluegrass music and going to "Guy and Tina's Bluegrass Pickin Parlor" with his late wife. He also enjoyed working outside with his grandchildren and going to their ball games. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and building cabinets in his shop at home, and growing sugar cane and making cane syrup from his crop. Mr. Hill always planted a large vegetable garden so he would have plenty to share with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a step granddaughter, Dana Woods; a sister, Ruby Romeo; and a brother Howard W. Hill, Jr. Mr. Hill was the widower of Shirley Thomas Hill.
