Janet Pauline (Smith) Kelsch, 85, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born in Tampico, Indiana, on March 27, 1938, to the late Elmer and Faye (Cunningham) Smith.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering at W.R. Ewing in Brownstown on Monday, October 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

A graveside service will be held at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison on Tuesday, October 10 at 11:30 am.

Janet was a 1956 graduate of Tampico High School. In 1957, she married Ron Lucas.

She later married Donald Kelsch in 1989. Together, they enjoyed traveling in their RV. She also loved gardening, reading, quilting, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family.

She was retired from her positions as Office Manager for Metal Air Service and Secretary with Pardieck, Gill & Vargo law firm, both in Seymour, and was a member of Tampico Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four children: Peggy (Jon) Robison, Brad (Cindi) Lucas, Julie (Robert) Zavaro, and Stephanie Lucas (Paul) Zema; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
