Charles Daniel Adkins, 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Charles was born May 24, 1939, in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Rev. A.J. Adkins and the late Lenna Mae Adkins.

Charles had a passion and zeal for serving the Lord. He loved to share his faith with others by sharing Bible verses in the different places he would go. He also enjoyed visiting people in nursing homes. He was a member of Twin Oaks Church in Ferrum, VA.

Mr. Adkins is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Perdue, and Bonnie Myers (Lee); son, Mark Adkins; grandchildren, Vanessa Stone (Chris), Chris Perdue, Emily Robertson, Dominic Myers, Dylan Myers, and William Adkins; great-grandchildren, Owen Stone, Olivia Stone, Lucas Perdue, Zachary Perdue, and Gracelyn Epperly; and dear friends, Les and Sandra Estes.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Jean Wells; and brothers, James, Carol, and J.V. Adkins.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, 2313 Henry Rd., Ferrum, VA 24088 with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Private interment will be at Chatham Burial Park, Chatham, VA.
