Sharon Lucretia Penshorn was born April 6th, 1946 to Henry and Elsie McClain in New Braunfels, Texas. Sharon went to be with our Lord March 5th, 2022 at 75 years old. Sharon spent most of her life in New Braunfels and Blanco, Texas. She was raised by her parents Henry and Elsie McClain of Blanco and her maternal grandparents Albert and Julia Flugrath of New Braunfels, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Albert and Julia Flugrath, her paternal grandparents Ivan and Sadie McClain of Salem, Oregon; her parents Henry and Elsie McClain, her Aunt Lucretia Schieman of Kizer, Oregon, her Uncle Hilmar Flugrath of New Braunfels; and her first grandson Stephan Penshorn of Blanco. She is survived by her husband Roy Penshorn, three children Darlene Penshorn, Royce Penshorn, and Ryan Penshorn all of Blanco; four grandchildren Alexandria Penshorn, Reagan Penshorn, Ronan Penshorn, Presley James, and one great-grandchild Robert Penshorn.

Sharon was taught English in school, her starting language was mainly German being raised a lot by her German grandmother, Julia. Mainly going to school in New Braunfels but also did some schooling in Blanco at Blanco High School. She graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1964.

Sharon had a talent for music, she played piano by ear and loved to sing and play the piano. She spent her young years on her parent's ranch in Blanco on the Blanco River; and at her Uncle Hilmar and Aunt Virginia's house and lumberyard "Handy Corner" in New Braunfels playing with all her cousins. Her first job was at a nursing home in New Braunfels.

She met Roy Penshorn in New Braunfels and they were married June 20th, 1965. Sharon continued working at various places, Nickerson Farms, secretarial work, manager at a Hallmark store, activity director at the Blanco Nursing home for a while, and jobs that reflected her interests. Her talents were diverse, besides playing the piano and organ she loved singing, painting, being active in her church and occasionally preaching God's word. Sharon took in many foster kids and showed them unconditional love. She taught and showed them God's love and to have faith in our Lord. She never knew a stranger and was a blessing to us all.

We love you Mom and will always miss you, till we meet again in Heaven.

A memorial service honoring Sharon's life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Blanco, 1200 4th St., Blanco, TX 78606.

Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at Yett Memorial Park, 1813 US Hwy 281, Blanco, TX 78606. Your presence is most important, a side dish and/or dessert is appreciated. Brisket & sausage will be provided.
