John E. Dudek III, 73 of Waterford, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. John was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late John Dudek Jr., and Irene Kalinowski Dudek. He graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy and attended Hudson Valley Community College for HVAC. He was employed with Dudek Bros. Oil Company, and subsequently owned Dudek's store on Remsen Street (formerly LaMarche Variety) with his wife Edie. He also worked for approximately 20 years for Security Supply before retiring. John was a former member of the Keveny and the Yankee Doodle Bands. He loved playing his clarinet and saxophone and was welcomed warmly into both bands. John loved deep sea fishing, watching fights (anything regarding Mohammed Ali), watching the thoroughbreds race in Saratoga, trips to Vegas with friends, and life in general. John loved to watch his Dallas Cowboys on Sundays and always looked forward to March Madness and filling out his NCAA brackets. John is survived by his sister, Kathy (Ed) Twiss of Cohoes; several in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Edith "Edie"; and his brother, Ed. John was always trying to make you laugh and see someone smile.
