Bobby "Max" Hobbs died April 12, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

Max was a special person, enjoyed by both family and friends. He had a funny sense of humor and loved nothing better than a good prank to match his witty sense of humor.

Max was born Jan. 3, 1946, in Stone County, Mo., to E.C. "Bud" Hobbs and Clara May Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughter, Danielle Hobbs and granddaughter, Chelsey Mahan; brothers, Dewey Hobbs and Bonnie, of Polo, Mo., and Don Hobbs and Wanda, of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Linda Powell and Donnie, Wheaton, Mo., Mary Washick and Francis, of Purdy; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bub Hobbs and Doyle Hobbs; and granddaughter, Alexandria Flory.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Seneca Cemetery Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Sam Mitchell officiating. There are never adequate words for the loss a family feels but we know Heaven will be a better place having Max as a permanent resident.
