Mavis Neely passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, September 10, 2023, in Pineville, Louisiana. Mavis was healed after her long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She left a lasting impact on the lives of all who knew her. Mavis was a very strong and determined lady. She was a dedicated member of the Commissary Church of Christ in Paragould, Arkansas for over thirty-five years. The love of her life was her husband, Jim Neely. Their three children were their joy. She was extremely proud of her five granddaughters that called her Nannie.

Deer Run Park and the Spring River in Hardy, Arkansas provided many fond memories for Nannie, Papaw, and their five granddaughters down on the dock fishing. Mavis cared deeply for her patients during her forty-three years as a registered nurse. Mavis loved the Lord, her family, the United States of America, elephants, Diet Coke with a straw, jewelry, her pets, the Arkansas Razorbacks, political news, hummingbirds, Christmas, manicured nails, and books. She made the best fudge and shared it with everyone.
