Mr. B. Ronald Gladin, age 81, of Creekwood Court, Sandersville, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, in Sandersville. Reverend Dr. Steve Cliffton will officiate, and military honors will be rendered.

Bennie Ronald (Ron) Gladin was born on November 11, 1941, to Giles S. and Bernice McAfee Gladin. He was a graduate of Sandersville High School, University of Georgia, and numerous military entities. He married Linda Cook just after earning his commission as a naval officer in 1964. Shortly thereafter, he earned his Naval flight wings and began a decorated and successful military aviation career, including having several squadron commands. He enjoyed a second career in sales after his military retirement. Linda, also a UGA graduate, cheerfully followed and supported Ron throughout his career. With Ron's determined support she was able to pursue her own goals. Wherever the two of them landed, they built a wild house and threw great parties. With a shiny red roof and bright yellow planks, their Tybee Island abode became something of a landmark for boaters. Ron was exposed to the chemical, Agent Orange during the Vietnam War and valiantly fought the effects for the rest of his life. Upon his death that suffering has ended.

Ron was predeceased by his brothers, Glenn Gladin and Thomas Gladin.

Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Cook Gladin; Linda's sister, Cheryl Cook Avant; Ron's sister in law, Gladys Marshall Gladin; and many nieces and nephews

Donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 771, Sandersville, GA. 31082.
