Elizabeth Agnus "Bessie" King, age 91, passed away September 27, 2023, surrounded by family, at the Quail Creek Skilled Nursing in Springfield, Missouri.

Elizabeth was born on July 2nd, 1932, in Scotland, Texas, to Alphonse and Caroline (Haberman) Prescher.

On September 18, 1950, she married Edward Joseph "Ed" King in Scotland, Texas. They made their home at Piqua and Muenster, Texas until 1963 when they farmed full-time at Piqua.

Bessie loved volunteering her time at many places including her church, the senior center, the school as well as delivering Meals on Wheels in Yates Center, Kansas. She was passionate about playing UNO and Skip-Bo along with Dominos with her family and friends.

Bessie had an infectious kindness with a dash of spunk that made everyone love her. When visiting her home, you could always be sure she'd have a favorite baked good or meal of yours planned for you. She could make anywhere she went feel like home.

She is survived by her children, Delores Henderson & husband, Forrest of LaGrange, IN, Joseph Edward King & wife, Roxanne of Wichita, KS, John F. King & wife, Martha of St. Mary's, KS, Lillian Meyers & husband, Jeff of Crestview, FL, David M. King of Wichita, KS, Cynthia Coari & husband, Kenneth of Troy, IL, and Mary C. Bode & husband, Larry of Ozark, MO; sister, Marie Hoedebeck of Wylie, TX; brother, Johnny Prescher of Rogers, Arkansas, Ernest Prescher of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bessie is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; daughter Cecelia Poffenbarger; sister, Anita Broker; daughter-in-law Heather King; grandson Justin King; and great-grandson Lucas Cook.
