Roger W. Bruner, 85, of Bloomington passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born, September 9, 1931 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Henry Pete and Lola (Cazee) Bruner.
Roger was a Radio Specialist for the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, he was honorably discharged in 1953.
He was a Manager and Salesman Sears and Roebuck, K-Mart and Full-O-Pep in Bloomington.
Roger was a long time member of Cherry Hill Christian Center where he served as a Deacon, Superintendent, Song Leader and Sunday School Teacher.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, vacationing, old cars, watching Indiana University Sports and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Leah (Butcher) Bruner, two daughters, Terri L. Bruner of Bloomington, Susan E. McCutchan (Russ) of Rockville, one granddaughter, Jessica L. Fitch of Bloomington, one sister, Tava Elkins of Bloomington and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Rudy, and Gary Bruner and one sister, Joy Hill.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Thursday, March 30, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Thursday, March 30 at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kim Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
