Surrounded by her precious children and family, Lila Jean (Woodruff) Treece-Blassingame left her earthly home and looked full upon her Saviors' face on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. She was the Nineth of Ten children born at home on May 1, 1935, in Glen, Mississippi to the late John Wister Woodruff and Modena Ann (Burcham) Woodruff. She was a member of Pisgah Community Church.
Jean's love for and dedication to her Lord was carried over into her love and dedication for her family. Her sharing of love and compassion while remaining firm but kind guided her children from birth to adulthood. She was a true living example of Proverbs 31:25-28. Her love extended beyond family to the many friends she taught, mentored, prayed for, sang with, cooked for, and cared for.
Jean began her working career on the family farm; she was a nurse's aide at Corinth Hospital, taught at Jumpertown Headstart and worked for the Booneville School District. She spent her last years doing what she loved most-playing music, performing, working crossword puzzles, telling stories ans spending time with family and friends.
Jean had many titles-dauggtee, sister, wife, mother, Nana/Sippi, teacher, singer, musician, and friend. She was lived by everyone who met her....
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years, her children, Patsy Martin, Jeffrey Treece, Jimmy Guy Blassingame, Eddie Treece, two infant children, her grand daughter Nancy Adams Calvery, three brothers and five sisters.
Services were held at McMillan Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21. Visitation was held from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and a celebration of life service followed with Brother Trey Lambert officiating....
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jean's memory be made to Gideon International or to Pisgah Community Church.
