Services for Mrs. Simon Moriarty

Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Moriarty, widow of Simon L. Moriarty, were held yesterday afternoon in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home. the Rev. R. R. Richards, retired Baptist pastor, conducted the services and Mrs. Donald Duryea sang "Just As I Am" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". Mrs. Walter Lauritsen played the accompaniments.

Committal was in the Wood River cemetery with six grandsons, Louis Mann, Delmar McCormick, Cecil Mann, John Preisendorff, Charles Christensen and Ralph Rydberg as casket bearers.

Preasent at the services from out of the city were Mrs. Rose Griffith of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Nora Plummer of York; Mrs. Harold Wagner, Mrs. Mildred Kelley, Samuel McCormick and Delmar McCormick all of Kansas City, Mo.; Bert Moriarty of Kearney, Mrs. Jack LaFountain of Clastkaine, Ore., Henry Arthaud of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rydberg of Hastings, Barney Clair of Omaha and Pfc. Louis Mann of Camp Phillips, Kas.

Funeral Arrangements Await Word from Relatives at Distance

Mrs. Emily Moriarty, 86, widow of Simon L. Moriarty and a resident of this city for 50 years, died early today at her home, 421 North Sycamore street. Mrs. Moriarty had been in failing health for the past two years.

Mrs. Moriarty, nee Emily Piquet was born June 4, 1857, at Cedar Rapids, Ia., where she atained womanhood and on Oct. 2, 1876, married Mr. Moriarty. they came to Nebraska in 1883 and, after a brief residence in Furnas county, moved to this city to make their permanent home. Mr. Moriarty died Mar. 8, 1933.

Mrs. Moriarty is survived by two sons, Guy Moriarty, who made his home with his mother, and Bert Moriarty of Kearney; four daughters, Mrs. Sarah Griffith of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Ira Poumber of York, Mrs. Harold Wagner of Kansas city, Mo., and Mrs. Jack LaFountaine of Clastskaine, Ore.; two brothers, John Piquet of Parker, Colo., and L. A. Piquet of Oakland, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Ida Stevens of Greeley, Colo.; a half-brother, Henry Arto of Cambridge; 49 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Henry Moriarty and an infant; four daughters, Mrs. Maude Ellis, Mrs. Nina Mann, Mis Ida Moriarty and an infant; a brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from relatives at a distance. the body is at the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home.
