Robert Whitworth (Bobby) Cunningham, 85, passed away on Sunday, September 24. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Joyner's Funeral Home in Wilson, NC. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 27 at 11:00 am at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Wilson, NC. Interment will be immediately following the funeral service at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC. Father Paul Castelli will officiate.

Bobby was a Tarheel fan born and bred. His heart lived in two places; here in Wilson with his loving wife Emily, and in Morehead City, where he had a lifetime of memories generated in his treasured Evans Street beach home and out fishing on his beloved boat, the C-Fever. You could always find him on a Friday night at the Dunes Club seafood buffet, ordering all of the soft shell crab, or in the front yard on Evans Street frying his own catch to share with loved ones. His famously strong homemade eggnog will be missed by all this holiday season as we raise our glasses in his memory.

Bobby is survived by his son, Robert Whitworth Cunningham, Jr.; daughters, Jayne Cunningham Langston and Leah Hines Cunningham; granddaughters, Sarah Haywood Langston and Elizabeth Holt Langston; grandson, Robert Whitworth Cunningham, III; wife Hannah Dawson Cunningham and great-grandsons, Robert Owen Cunningham and Camden Dawson Cunningham.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Booker Cunningham, Jr. and Leah Hines Cunningham.
