Peggy worked for many years in the dry-cleaning business. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers and being outdoors. Peggy loved caring for her grandchildren and following their sports and band concerts. She was a member of Beals Pentecostal Church. She had a very strong fortitude.
In addition to her parents Manuel and Patsy Carter, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband James Matthews and her son Brian Burns.
Peggy is survived by her daughters Shelia Matthews of Spottsville, KY and Cynthia Griffin of Hartford, KY; son Michael Burns of Greenville, KY; several brothers and sisters, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Per Peggy's request there will be no services and a private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
