David Charles Gresham Sr., 78, of Cushing, TX, passed away on September 21, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2023 at Dickie Allen Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Reagan Sewell of Faith Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at McKnight Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dickie Allen Funeral Home.

David was born in Nacogdoches, TX to Ellis (Dude) and Rose Marie Fuller Gresham on February 17, 1945. He went to elementary school at Sacul and High School at Cushing, where he played football and enjoyed many friends and work on cars. He married Martha Jean Blacksher on June 6, 1964 after dating since the age of 16 and 15, respectively. David had a love for his community and it was evident through the many organizations he participated in. He worked as a Lineman and Local Representative for the Cushing, Douglass, Laneville, and Lake Striker area for TU Electric for 37 years. He was involved in the Cushing Lions Club, a member of Cushing ISD School Board, and spent many years coaching youth baseball and working with different Ag events with his sons. David's loves were working on the farm with cows, tinkering away on different projects, trucks, and his antique tractors. If you needed to find him you never had to look further
than the yard or the barn where he was always working with his hands. As he aged, he found peace in looking over the farm in his rocking chair with his faithful companion, Rip, by his side. But his greatest love was watching his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren compete in athletic events, school events, and showing their animals at county fairs and major shows.
David is preceded in death by his mother and father, Rose Marie Fuller Gresham and Ellis (Dude) Gresham. His brothers Troy Gresham, Jimmy Gresham, and Gary Gresham.

David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha Jean Gresham. His son David Charles (Chuck) Gresham Jr. and wife Martha Gresham of Cushing, TX, son Christopher Andrew (Andy) Gresham and wife Shannon Gresham of Nat, TX, and son Matthew Jory (Joe) Gresham and wife Chrissy Gresham of Sacul, TX. Brothers Damon Gresham of Longview and sister Willene Dempsey of Deer Park, TX. Four grandchildren: Trey Gresham and wife Johna of Douglass, TX, Colt Gresham and wife Kayla of Sulphur Springs TX, Rhett Gresham and wife Caitlan of Montgomery, TX, and Shelby Gresham of Nat, TX. Three great grandchildren: Connor Rope Gresham of Douglass, TX, Ashlyn Grace Gresham and Rhylee Kate Gresham of Montgomery, TX, and many nieces and nephews which he loved dearly. Pallbearers will be Trey Gresham, Colt Gresham, Rhett Gresham, Connor Gresham, Randy Gresham, and Shane Smelley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Gresham, Bobby Joe (Rabbit) Wallace, Charles Muckleroy, Wayne Schabow, Howard Lee Lampkin, Frank Harris, Ginger Opperman and all fellow employees of TU Electric.
