Garry Foster passed away Friday July 9th, 2021 at his home in Brownsboro, Texas.

Garry was born in Athens, TX on September 26, 1951 to Welton and Bonnie Foster. He attended and graduated from Athens High School in 1969. He married the love of his life, Sonyia Saylors, November 20, 1971 and they had two handsome boys, Chad and John Glenn. He spent most of his working years with Brookshire's. He retired from there after 37 years.

He enjoyed traveling to his deer lease near Fredericksburg, TX which he was on with his dear friends for over 30 years. He also enjoyed having friends and family over at his shop on the farm near the Kickapoo Bottoms. Many fun years of riding 4-wheelers, watching football and Wheel of Fortune were had at his shop. He also owned several Martin (bird) houses and loved watching them annually make their trip up from South America, have families, and then fly back when the cooler temps began to arrive.

Garry is survived by his two sons and their wives, Chad and Misty Foster of Brownsboro and John Glenn and Emily Foster of Brownsboro. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren – Dustin Foster and his wife Nikki with their 2 children, Jaxston and Hadleigh; Chelsea Foster; Tristan and Blake Foster. He is also survived by his twin brother and his wife, Larry and Anne Foster of Athens; a sister, Sue Stover of Athens; and younger brother Rickie and Kalee Foster of Athens. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Sonyia Foster and both of his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on July 24th, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, TX. All are welcome to attend.
