Local Resident's Grandson is Killed In Vietnam Action

GROVE CITY Pfc. Gary N. Foster, 18, grandson of Mrs. Frank McWilliams, Grove City RD 4, was killed in action Jan. 26 in Quang Tri, Vietnam.

A son of Jean Moorman Foster Campbell. Orem, Utah, and Roger N. Foster, a former Grove City man now living in California, the youth enlisted in the Marine Corps June 21, 1967, at Provo, Utah, and arrived in Vietnam, Jan. 8.

Young Foster received his education in Riverton ad Sheridan, Wyo., and Orem, Utah. He was born June 28, 1949, at Lander, Wyo.

In Vietnam he was a member of an amphibious landing force based on a ship in Da Nang harbor. His unit was flown to and from the battle zones by helicopters. He participated in his first battle Jan. 14.

Surviving besides his parents are his step-father, William Campbell, a half-sister, Debbie Teter, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara L. Moorman, uncle, Robert L. Moorman, all of Orem, Utah; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. McWilliams and several uncles and aunts in the Grove City-Mercer area, and his paternal grandfather, Gilmer Foster in California.
