Riverton - The funeral Mass for Roger John Boesplfug, 43, will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Catholic Church by Rev. Ron Stolcis.

Mr. Boespflug died April 12, 1990, and his body was recovered on May 14, 1990, at Boysen Lake. He was born Dec. 26, 1946 in Dickson, N.D. to Valentine and Veronica (Sticka) Boespflug and was educated in North Dakota and Douglas.

Mr. Boespflug was a plant operator for Chemical Marketing Service and had moved to Riverton 22 1/2 years ago from Douglas. He had worked for U.S. Energy from 1968-73 and Pathfinder Mines from 1973-1985.

He was a Vietnam War Army veteran and had served from Feb. 24, 1966, to Feb. 23, 1968, and was a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Division.

Mr. Boespflug was with the Riverston Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years and was a former officer and trustee. He enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, water skiing, birds and camping.

On June 11, 1968, he married Cheryl Ann Cook in Casper.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl, one son, Kaycee John Boespflug, and one daughter, Becky Ann Boespflug, all of Riverton; his mother, Veronica Boespflug of Douglas; three brothers, Ronald "Whitey" Boespflug of Douglas, Royce Boespflug of Riverton and Rocky Boespflug of Colorado; three sisters, Verna Geho of Cheyenne, Valerie Sullivan of Douglas and Vicki Olson of Casper; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father and a niece.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials to the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department, Box 48, Riverton, with attention to the Fallen Fireman Fund, would be appreciated.
