He passed away at the age of 67 on September 18th, 2023. Robert passed away at home, surrounded by family and friends, after battling health issues for many years. He was a fighter throughout his entire life.
He loved bowling, horseshoes, bonfires, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carla Apperson, and daughter, Amy Riddle, both of Bement, Illinois. Surviving him from Gibson City, Illinois, are his sisters, Cathy Monical and Tammy Taylor, as well as his niece, Tiffany Leisure and nephew Travis Monical. He leaves behind five grandsons, Dylan and Ian Campbell of Bement, Austin Reed of London, Kentucky, Drevin Pope and Xander Riddle of Bement and Mackenzie Campbell of Brighton, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carroll Apperson and two children, Scott and Angel Reed.
No services will be held as he wished to be cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Robert's life at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, and prayers during this time.
A special thanks to his best friend, Dennis Shonkwiler, for also supporting Robert through many years of struggle.
