Karen Gross, age 81, of Lincoln, NE, passed away at home on September 17, 2023.
Born in rural Edgar, NE in 1942, Karen moved to Lincoln following graduation and worked for the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Here she met her husband of 62 years, Wayne Gross. They were married in Davenport, NE on September 17, 1961 and were blessed with a son, Brian, in 1963 and a daughter, Sheri, in 1966. Over the years she worked in insurance, appraisal, and dental offices in Grand Island, NE, Austin, TX, and Lincoln, NE.
In her spare time, Karen loved reading, visiting with family, and traveling the world. She was proud to have visited over 35 countries, including the Holy Land in her long and fulfilling life. Most of all, many will remember how her laugh could change the energy of an entire room.
Karen leaves behind her husband, Wayne; children, Brian (Leslie) Gross and Sheri (Chris) Schuttler; grandchildren, Kjersten and Maren Schuttler; brother, Loren (Virginia) Drohman; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Drohman.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Elvin Drohman and Erna (Tamme) Drohman, brothers Glen and Virgil Drohman, sister-in-law Bonnie Drohman, and daughter-in-law Lisa (Babb) Gross.
Services will be held at Christ Lincoln on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, from 6-8pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
