Horace G Sonneborn Sr. also known as Horace G. Sandy. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 2nd 1898 at New York City for two years, to serve in the Spanish American War.

He was mustered in on May 19th 1898. He served as a Private, Company H, 69th New York Infantry. He was promoted to Corporal on July 1st 1898.

He was mustered out on January 31st 1899 with his Company at New York City. As Horace G. Sandy reenlisted in the United States Army on October 29th 1900 for three years. As a recruit-foot service, unassigned unit at New York City. On February 1st 1901, he was Dishonorably Discharged as a recruit per SO 22 Dept. East 1901.
