Death of Brooklyn Soldier (Special to the Eagle.)
Hartford, Conn., May 28 -- John A. Soby of Company B., Forty-first United States Volunteers, who enlisted in this city, died in Manila April 9. During the Spanish-American War Soby was a member of Company K, First Connecticut Volunteers. He returned here suffering from typhoid fever and, after being treated at the Hartford Hospital, went to his home in Brooklyn. After a short stay at home he returned to this city and enlisted for Philippine service. He expected to be sent home May 18.
Soby was 21 years old. He leaves a father and two sisters in Brooklyn and a sister in this city.
