Barbara L. {Purple} Guinn, 72, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health for the last several years.

She was born August 18, 1951, the daughter of William C. and M. Ruth Purple, both deceased. She married Tony D. Guinn on December 9, 1967, until his passing on September 19, 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele D. (Rick) Hunley of Crawfordsville; her grandsons, Dylan Hunley and Jordan Hunley (fiancé, Julia James), both of Crawfordsville; her brother, Mike (Melanie) Purple of Reno, Nevada; her sisters, Bonnie Oilar of Yeddo and Tammy Purple of Lafayette; her sister-in-law, Betty Riley of Kingman; her brothers-in-law, Paul Guinn (Freida Kent) and Terry (Barbara) Guinn, both of Kingman and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara graduated from DACC with an LPN degree in 1990. She worked as a nurse at several area nursing homes, including Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville and the Waters of Covington. After her husband's death in 2003, she became a traveling nurse. Later, she settled in Florida and lived there until her health declined in 2014.

Barbara loved traveling. She and Tony traveled to 37 states, mostly in their RV's. After his death, she pulled the fifth-wheel trailer herself and traveled that way. She also loved the beach. Any time someone asked her where she wanted to go, the answer was always the beach.
