James Calvin Buckner, 92, Moultrie, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Park Regency.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Oak Dale Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Born March 31, 1916, in Carroll County, Ga., he was the son of the late John Homer Buckner and Cora Lee Abercrombie Buckner.
He was a retired farmer and insurance representative with A.F.L.A.C. He was a member and deacon emeritus of Oak Dale Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Buckner; one brother, Allen Buckner; and two sisters, Nell Crosby and Florence Buckner.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Pearl Taylor Buckner of Moultrie; one son, Randy Buckner and wife Mary of Moultrie; two daughters, Kathy Worn and husband Larry of Moultrie and Debbie Lucas and husband Mike of St. Mary's, Ga.; one brother, Claude Buckner and wife Mattie Nell of Albany, Ga.; three sisters, Johnnie York Blanton and husband Cleve, Louise Bannister and Evelyn Lastinger, all of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
