"Pappy" was born Sept. 25, 1913, in Oklahoma to Elijah Charles and Temora May Flippin. He was a lifelong area resident and spent over 50 years building houses. "Pappy" was a horseman and used to say he was "tougher than a Montana boot with the heel knocked off and that he could handle the rankest stock on four feet."
He didn't have children of his own, but he helped raise and endeared himself to all of his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors: Wife, Ima Gene Flippin; stepsons, Lynn Witt and his wife, Kay, Jerry M. Flippen and his wife, Susan; stepdaughter, Doris Rowland; a number of stepgrandchildren, nephews and nieces; and a large extended family.
